Week 9 Waiver Wire Adds

This was a very exciting past few days with the Trade Deadline. We have some new destinations for players, the big ones being Kelvin Benjamin to Buffalo, Jay Ajayi to Philadelphia, and Jimmy Garoppolo to San Francisco. These players should improve these teams significantly. Benjamin should thrive as Tyrod Taylor’s deep threat, it should only take 1-2 weeks for Ajayi to take over as the number one running back in Philly, and Garoppolo will be fun to watch when he finally gets the nod.

Josh McCown

McCown has scored 22 fantasy points in three games in a row and at least 17 points in four straight. The Jets are facing Buffalo, who are banged up on defense and playing on the road. This is a must win for McCown and the Jets are in must win situation. I like the veteran quarterback this week as a streaming option.

Running Back

Alfred Morris and Darren McFadden

Looks like Zeke is headed for the Suspension train, we just are waiting for the final details, which means that Morris and McFadden are must adds in all formats. Jerry Jones has named Morris the starter and has been the number 2 back all season thus far. I believe this will turn into a RBBC or end up being McFadden’s backfield. McFadden was the starter going into the season until the suspension was put on pause and Morris isn’t that great at receiving out of the backfield. Regardless add both running backs in your leagues, they will be great flex plays with RB2 upside week to week.

Kenyan Drake and Damien Williams

It’s up in the air who will be the lead back after the departure of Ajayi, but it should be fun competition to watch. It looks like right now that Drake will be the early down back and Williams will be the passing down back. Drake is listed as the number 2 starter, but reports are saying that Williams has more upside. Drake is a must add in standard formats and Williams is a must add in PPR formats. Let the battle begin.

Wide Receivers

Paul Richardson

Wilson is playing at a high level and Richardson has been one of the big beneficiaries of it. He’s had 3 touchdowns in the past 2 games and put up 6 receptions, 105 yards and 2 TD’s last week. Seattle is playing a banged up/weak Washington Redskins defense, and Richardson should have another solid day. If Norman ends up covering Baldwin most of the game, Richardson has WR1 upside.

Robby Anderson

NFL: OCT 23 Ravens at Jets

I thought that Jermaine Kearse was going to be the number 1 wide out for the Jets, but Anderson has proved otherwise. He’s had either 75 receiving yards or a touchdown in the last 3 games. McCown likes taking shots down field and Anderson has been reliable. Anderson will continue to be a WR3 with WR2 upside every week.

Tight End

Vernon Davis

Jordan Reed is once again injured with a hamstring problem and will be probably in and out the rest of the season, which means Vernon Davis is a great add. Cousins loves targeting his tight ends and it helps the fact that the Redskins deep threats are horrible. Davis has done fantastic with the opportunities he’s been given and I expect him to be a solid replacement in the absence of Reed. He’s a great pick up for the lackluster tight end position this year.

Jack Doyle

His past 3 games Doyle has 32 targets for 25 catches, 215 yards and two touchdowns. Until he slows down, he’s will continue to be a solid fantasy option at Tight End.
