Week 10: Start ‘Em & Sit ‘Em

Start ‘Em

Quarterbacks

Matt Stafford

mmqb-staff.jpg

The Lions looked like a poised team ready to make a deep run this year Monday Night against Green Bay. The won 30-17, with Stafford leading the charge. He threw for 361 yards and 2 touchdowns. He gets another favorable match-up this week against the Cleveland Browns. The Lions should have another easy Sunday to show their dominance and try and keep pace with the Minnesota Vikings. Stafford is a top five quarterback this week.

Forecast: 325 passing yards and 3 touchdowns

Josh McCown

McCown

He’s had his best season to date thus far. He’s helped the Jets be viable opponents in every game and is still giving them a chance to possibly have a winning record. He had a great outing against the division foes, the Buffalo Bills, last Thursday as the Jets won 34-21. This week he gets Tampa Bay, who are not playing their best football.  Their defense has been awful all season and they have been one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL this season.

Forecast: 275 passing yards and 2 touchdowns: 2 rushes for 18 yards

Running Backs

Christian McCaffrey

Christian M.jpg

Trading Kelvin Benjamin could be the best thing that happened to McCaffrey. The Panthers got McCaffrey more involved this past week and they need to continue to do so. He had 15 rushes for 66 and 1 touchdown with 5 receptions for 28 yards. The Panthers drafter him to be an explosive weapon and I expect him to be just that going forward. Although I don’t believe the Panthers to be contenders, yet pretenders, I believe McCaffrey will be.

Forecast: 55 rush yards, 5 receptions for 60 yards, 1 touchdown.

LeSean McCoy

McCoy got cooled off by the Jets defense last week, but he will bounce back this week against the Saints. New Orleans defense has been surprising this year and seems to be headed in the right direction. Bills will look to get back on track and he will get plenty of opportunities this Sunday.

Forecast: 85 yards rushing, 6 receptions for 45 yards and 1 touchdown

Wide Receivers

Marvin Jones Jr.

mjones jr.jpg

He’s been on a tear these past 3 weeks and has a great match-up against the Browns this week. He had 11 targets with 7 receptions, 107, and 2 touchdowns. The Lions showed that their record doesn’t reflect the type of team they are and want to be. Stafford’s on fire and this team is looking like they are going to make a deep push this season. You will be able to ride these Lions receivers till the end of your fantasy season.

Forecast: 8 receptions, 101 yards, 1 Touchdown

Devin Funchess

Devin-Funchess

First game without Kelvin Benjamin, Funchess had 5 catches for 86 yards on 7 targets. It’s only going to get better for Devin Funchess. The Panthers go up against the Dolphins this week who have allowed a receiver to score a touchdown in the past 4 games.  Funchess is the only red zone threat for the Panthers besides Cam Newton himself. He will be a WR1 from here on out

Forecast: 7 receptions for 97 yards and 1 touchdown

Tight Ends

Cameron Brate

His past few games have been awful, but he has a few things going for him this week; Mike Evans is out, Winston is hurt, and Fitzpatrick only airs the football. Brate should get some solid looks this week and what looks to be a shootout against the Jets. The Jets are allowing the 7th most fantasy points to tight ends this year.

Forecast: 4 receptions for 55 yards and 1 touchdown

Kyle Rudolph

kyle-rudolph

He’s been hot as of late. He’s been playing at the level he should have been playing at all season long. In the last 4 games he’s at least had 7 targets and 5 catches.  He’s got a good match-up this week against the Washington Redskins who are fourth in fantasy points to tight ends.  Rudolph will be a top 3 tight end this week.

Forecast: 6 receptions for 70 yards and 1 touchdown

Sit ‘Em

Quarterbacks

Phillip Rivers

The Chargers haven’t been playing that well and they just don’t have the best luck this year. Oh… and they are facing the Jaguars this week. The defense is allowing quarterbacks an average of 7.5 fantasy points. This match-up has disaster written all over it. I expect this to be a low scoring affair.

Forecast: 200 passing yards, 1 TD, 2 INT, 1 fumble

Matt Ryan

I don’t like where Atlanta is heading this season. This offense looks out of sync and has done a complete 360 from last year. Ryan’s play hasn’t been consistent either. The Cowboys defense has been surprising at times and they gave Alex smith some trouble last week. I believe Ryan won’t play that bad, but I would think about benching him and streaming another quarterback with a more favorable match-up.

Forecast: 225 yards passing yards, 2 TD, 2 INT

Running Backs

Ameer Abduallah

rAbdullahBarrySanders.vresize.1200.675.high.67

He wanted more carries and he got them, but unfortunately he fumbled the ball twice. I expect the Lions to give Theo Riddick a little bit more of the workload this week.  He didn’t even rush for that many yards last week, he rushed 21 times and only had 48 yards. Bad performance; He had his moment and he blew it. The Browns are the worst team, but they one area they haven’t been that bad is against the run.

Forecast: 14 carries for 35 yards

Aaron Jones

aaron-jones-092817-getty-ftr_11dw0910gbqs91d2euwree030p

Stay away from everyone on the Green Bay roster, this team is going in a downward spiral. Jones and Montgomery will be a RBBC for the rest of the year and with the poor play at the quarterback position, defenses will stack in the box and make Hundley beat them.

Forecast: 12 carries for 40 yards

Wide Receivers

Will Fuller

will-fuller-2016-2b2f51e5741467a1

Tom Savage… Need I say more?

Forecast: Trade and try and get some type of value in return

Jordy Nelson

untitled.png

Similar to what I say about Aaron Jones, Nelson doesn’t have much value you with Hundley at quarterback. He had 4 receptions for 35 yards. He won’t be the Jordy Nelson we know without Rodgers at the helm. Chicago’s Defense has been pretty good this season and I do expect the Bears to pull out the upset this week.

Forecast: 4 receptions for 60 yards

Tight Ends

Austin Hooper

613645724_0

He’s getting some good targets, but isn’t doing anything productive with them. Don’t get excited and put him in your lineup. He’s not worth a steaming option anymore until he shows some consistency.

Forecast: 3 catches for 20 yards

Redskins Tight ends

26_4278528.jpg

Both Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis are dealing with injuries this week. They are both questionable and who ever suits up will most likely not be productive. The Redskins have a tough match-up at home with week with the Vikings.

Forecast: Reed leaves game with another Injury and Davis has 4 catches for 35 yards

Sleepers

Charles Clay: He is currently listed as questionable, but if he suits up he should pick up right where he left off.

Bilal Powell: Forte is out with a knee injury and the Jets are facing a horrible Buccaneers defense. I like the matchup

Josh Doctson: Crowder and Reed are questionable and Doctson stepped up last week. Gruden and the Cousins will continue to give him more opportunities.
